In this series of five workshops, designed for people who are considering starting or purchasing a business, SCORE volunteers serve as workshop presenters and volunteer SCORE mentors will be on hand to answer questions.
Startup Basics, offered on April 26, is an important introduction to the series. It covers critical factors in achieving business success and the advantages and disadvantages of different business structures. Although it is free, pre-registration is requested.
Attending the remaining four workshops after the free Startup Basics is recommended, although registration is open to any workshop. The fee for the remaining workshops is $25 each. For an investment of $100, an attendee receives 16 hours of training, materials for each workshop and free SCORE mentoring services.
The workshops that complete this series are: Your Business Concept (May 3), Marketing Plan (May 10), Financial Projections (May 17), and Funding Sources (May 24).
All workshops in this series will be held on Saturday mornings, beginning at 9 a.m., at ComCenter, 9040 Town Center Parkway, Lakewood Ranch. Financial Projections is a 4-hour session; all other sessions end at noon.
