TAMPA, Fla. (April 14, 2014) – From FREE admission and an exquisite exhibit to a private lounge and extravagant dining, moms have plenty of things to do in Tampa Bay this Mother’s Day.
On Mother’s Day, moms receive FREE admission to Dinosaur World (with purchase of a full paid child admission), and FREE access for the entire weekend (May 10 & 11) at The Florida Aquarium (with purchase of a full paid admission) and Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo (with purchase of a full paid child or adult admission). BOING! is also giving moms one free jump hour on Mother’s Day (with purchase of one full price jump).
Moms who visit the Glazer Children’s Museum not only get in free, but also have access to a special Mother’s Day lounge where they can relax in style while dad and the kids explore the exhibits and hands-on discoveries. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
Treat mom like a queen at the Henry B. Plant Museum. Her free admission grants her access to the exquisite Pottery of Wedgwood exhibit, featuring more than 80 examples of Wedgwood’s creations from the 19th century; live performance of Upstairs/Downstairs (2 p.m.), showcasing Edith Roosevelt’s visit to the historic Tampa Bay Hotel in 1898; and a walk through the spectacular tropical gardens. The museum is open from noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
Two special dining options are available at Innisbrook Resort. Mother’s Day Brunch will be served in the Inverness Ballroom with seatings at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and including everything from soup, salads and cold selections to featured entrees, carving stations and desserts. At Packard’s Steakhouse, a prix fixe, three-course menu is available from 5 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
The InterContinental Tampa & Shula’s Steak House Tampa would like to honor moms by paying homage to an iconic women’s fashion staple – the women’s fashion hat. On Sunday, May 11 mothers are encouraged to wear their most fabulous hat to lunch at Shula’s Steak House Tampa. The lady with the best hat will win a $100 Shula’s Steak House certificate.
Jump aboard Tampa’s premier Yacht Starship on Mother’s Day for an afternoon or evening cruise along the spectacular Tampa Bay. The two-hour afternoon cruise departs at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and includes a Mother’s Day brunch buffet, reserved table and entertainment.
