Tampa, FL. – Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin Shareholder Russell S. Buhite co-authored the 11th Circuit chapter of the 5th edition of The ERISA Survey of Federal Circuits book, which is published by the America Bar Association (ABA) Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS). Buhite has co-authored the 11th Circuit chapter in all of the previous editions of the publication.
The ERISA Survey of Federal Circuits serves as an annual reference and addresses issues that frequently arise in the prosecution and defense of claims for ERISA-regulated benefits. It is also a project of the Health and Disability Insurance Law Committee.
Buhite, who serves as managing attorney of the firm’s Tampa office, has dedicated much of his more-than-25-year legal career to handling life, health and disability insurance coverage litigation in addition to ERISA matters. Additionally, he focuses a large part of his practice on professional liability defense of agents, brokers, attorneys, appraisers, engineers and other professionals in both the state and federal courts.
A former chair of the Health & Disability Insurance Committee of the TIPS Section of the ABA, Buhite is currently a Vice Chair of the Section’s Health Care Reform Task Force.
Buhite received his undergraduate degree from Rice University and his juris doctor from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in Florida and Missouri, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and all federal district courts in the state of Florida.
