GULFPORT, FL — Get saucy this Spring, at LocalShops1’s fourth annual Top Local Chef competition. The battle features chefs from independent restaurants and catering companies from all across Tampa Bay, at the Gulfport Casino & Ballroom from 5 to 7 pm Sunday, April 27. Tickets are available online at TopLocalChef.com or in person at the Gulfport Beach Bazaar.

Island Flavors & Tings: Helena Josephs, Gulfport
Pipo’s Cuban Cafe: Ramon Hernandez, St. Pete
Serendipity Cafe: Kim Mohr, Dunedin
Shubee Shack: Pat “Shubee” Bearry, North Redington Beach
Taco Bus: Rene Valenzuela, Tampa & St. Pete
Twisted Cork Grille: Sean Gwynn, St. Pete
Wine Madonna: Kate Gorr, St. Pete
Contestants will incorporate Intensity Academy’s Saucy Everything gourmet sauce as a key component of their dishes. Submissions will be judged on taste, creativity, appearance and use of the not-so secret ingredient by a panel of celebrity judges and 200 guests. This year’s judges are Janet Keeler, Tampa Bay Times; Noah Pransky, 10 News; Carlos Hernandez, Carlos Eats; Isabel Laesing, Family Foodie; Cathy Salustri, Gabber.
Guests are asked to bring donations of non-perishable items for our non-profit partner, the Gulfport Senior Center Foundation, for their food pantry.
Top Local Chef is a production of LocalShops1 and Intensity Academy Gourmet Sauces. Our nonprofit partner is the Gulfport Senior Center Foundation and this year’s sponsors are the Gulfport Area Chamber of Commerce, ShoutOUT Tampa Bay and Gerardo Luna Photographs.
