SARASOTA (April 4, 2014) – The College of Business at USF Sarasota-Manatee has maintained its business accreditation by AACSB International—The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, and has been earned by less than five percent of the world’s business programs.
The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) was founded in 1916 to accredit schools of business. AACSB-accredited schools have the highest quality faculty, relevant and challenging curriculum and provide educational and career opportunities that are not found at other business schools. The 2013 Standards ensure that business schools that achieve accreditation are best in class in how they meet the needs of their core stakeholders-students and employers. The Standards drive innovation, engagement and impact with students, employers and the communities they serve.
“The College of Business at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee achieved its accreditation from AACSB in just three years, while the accreditation process normally takes five to seven years,” noted Dean Robert Anderson. “This accomplishment is due to the dedicated efforts of the faculty and campus administration. The Standards focus on the quality of the faculty, the academic programs, support services for students, and how the college continually increases the quality of the content taught. Achieving this recognition gives this region of Florida its first and only AACSB accredited program. The accreditation further enhances the quality of business education in the USF System.”
