Pasco County, Florida — Leadership Pasco has announced that the Fourth Annual Taste of Pasco fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 12, at the Rotary Pavilion at the Concourse.
The event takes place from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at 15323 State Road 52 in Land O’Lakes, and will help the West Pasco Pregnancy Center and Runaway Alternatives Project (RAP) House, both located in New Port Richey.
Guests will get to sample food and beverages from local restaurants and shop a silent auction while enjoying live music, friendship and demonstrations from Pasco County Sheriff’s K-9 unit. For $5, children can enjoy an “All Kids Zone” with a mobile gaming unit, rock wall and other fun activities.
Tickets for the event are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Kids 12 and under are free. Tickets are available online through: www.tasteofpasco2014.eventbrite.com or through a 2014 class member.
The Runaway Alternatives Project (RAP) House, located in New Port Richey, provides youth ages 10-17 who are runaways, homeless, or in need of short-term, out of home respite placement for any reason, with a safe place to stay. They provide 24 hour, seven days a week admission services, youth supervision, food, clothing, crisis counseling, life skills education, individual and family counseling, recreation and leisure time activities and case management services. There is no fee for program services. Funds from Taste of Pasco will be used for much-needed building improvements and new furnishings for the RAP House.
For more than 27 years, The West Pasco Pregnancy Center has saved thousands of lives while helping its clients achieve their full potential, despite the pressures and consequences of an unintended pregnancy. WPPC promotes life-affirming responsibility, which transforms lives and changes hearts, by empowering women
and families to make informed decisions through essential health, parenting, life skills education and counseling. Funds received from Taste of Pasco will be used to purchase a mobile ultrasound unit that will be utilized in the Mobile Medical Unit by The West Pasco Pregnancy Center.
“The Taste of Pasco is a great way to eat, drink and be charitable for two great causes in Pasco County,” said Tony Vannata, Leadership Pasco Class of 2014 President and Sales and Marketing Director of 1-800-Dry Me Out. “Both charities provide services to some of Pasco’s most vulnerable residents; this is why our class chose them as recipients of our fundraiser.”
