|(April 2, 2014, Sarasota, FL) – CS&LCPAs is pleased to announce that Janis Williams, Client Bookkeeper, was named “Volunteer of the Year” by the Literacy Council of Sarasota. Williams has been volunteering with the Literacy Council for seven years, doing their payroll, bookkeeping, and assisting with financial tasks.
The award was presented at the annual Literacy Matters Luncheon on Friday, March 28th at Michael’s on East. The Literacy Council of Sarasota is a voluntary agency that has been helping adults read, write and speak English for over 30 years.

About Literacy Council of Sarasota
Since 1978, the Literacy Council of Sarasota (LCS) has worked to make the community more literate through individual and group instruction in English. The adults served by LCS are diverse in gender, race, ethnicity,socioeconomic status, educational level and age, and all share a desire to improve their literacy. In one-on-one or small tutoring sessions, trained volunteers work with individuals on their specific literacy goals. LCS currently has 207 active working tutor-learner pairs.
