Known internationally for her dynamic work in the medical field, St. Petersburg native and Cleveland Clinic-trained physician, Lora L. Brown is excited to hold the official Chamber of Commerce opening of TruWell, A New Health, a unique offering of age management medicine and concierge services created for patients who demand greater access to superior medical care. Dr. Brown is a double board-certified, fellowship-trained physician, specializing in the minimally invasive interventional treatment of pain, as well as anti-aging and regenerative medicine. Her colleague, Elena Dolskaya, MD, who specializes in anti-aging and women’s wellness, is a Board Certified OB/GYN.
TruWell’s services include preventive aging with utilization of a comprehensive approach, focusing on bio-identical hormone optimization, combined with nutrition, stress management and overall well being. According to a recent study, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) has many benefits: it reduces the risk of heart diseases and osteoporosis; prevents development of cancers, malignancies, and weight gain; improves insulin response; eliminates symptoms of discomfort for women experiencing menopausal symptoms; and more.
“Regenerative medicine is an exciting, emerging field that utilizes your body’s own cells for healing and regrowth of tissue,” says Dr. Brown, one of the few doctors in the Tampa Bay area who specializes in Stem Cell and Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy, “Adult stem cell research has been shown to regenerate and repair injured or diseased structures, via the release of bioactive tissue growth factors and cytokines.” Stem Cell Therapy is being used at TruWell to treat joint pain due to osteoarthritis, as well a multitude of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, diabetes, COPD, and inflammatory bowel disease.
Dr. Brown and her team look at aging and the consequential decrease in hormone levels as a significant factor in disease formation. By bringing hormones to healthy levels through BHRT, and appropriate nutrition, much of the disease and deterioration of aging is preventable. Maintenance of healthy hormone levels throughout one’s life is a proven method for improved energy, vitality, disease prevention and general well being.
Drs. Brown and Dolskaya are members of the American Academy of Anti-Aging and graduates of Wordlink Anti-Aging Foundation.
