MARCH 28, 2014 – GLE Associates Inc. (GLE), a full service Architecture, Engineering and Environmental consulting firm was recently awarded three (3) regional contracts by the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), to perform petroleum cleanups in the State of Florida. As one (1) of fifty-five (55) Agency Term Contractors (ATCs), GLE will complete for cleanup work with the other ATCs throughout Florida. The regional contracts will be will be managed by Paul R. Belyea, PG.
The Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP) has refocused the approach of the FDEP toward petroleum contaminated sites. The former Petroleum Preapproval Program allowed site owners to select their contractor of choice to perform cleanup activities on their sites. Now, ALL PETROLEUM CLEANUP WORK is required by the FDEP to be performed by the newly awarded ATCs. Funded by the Inland Protection Trust Fund (IPTF), the FDEP’s current annual budget for assessment and cleanup of eligible petroleum sites is $125 MILLION.
When asked about this growth opportunity with the FDEP, Robert B. Greene, PG, PE, CIH, LEED AP, the President of GLE and Project Director for the Regional Contracts, stated:
“This is a NEW DAY for the State of Florida, which should see significant competition for cleanup sites by ATC Contractors that were selected by the State to perform this important work. We are excited to be included by the FDEP as a preferred Contractor in the State of Florida.”
With corporate headquarters in Tampa, GLE is a full service architecture, engineering and environmental consulting firm, providing Architecture, Civil Engineering, MEP Engineering, and Environmental Consulting services for clients nationwide from offices throughout the southeast.
