LOCAL AUTHOR AND COMMENTATOR KEITH LONG WILL FOCUS ON THE RESEARCH AND WRITING FOR HIS BOOK ON THE CASEY ANTHONY TRIAL AT BAY AREA PROFESSIONAL WRITERS GUILD MEETING, MONDAY, APRIL 28
TAMPA BAY, FLORIDA, March 31, 2014: Keith Long, local author and commentator, will conduct an interactive discussion about the issues for creative nonfiction writers when the story is current, controversial, and the characters are very much news stories in themselves.
Take his book about the Casey Anthony trial. The real-life characters and situations that swirled around the events that occurred in 2011 turned the story into the most talked about news story of that year.
Long says research journalism gives him the opportunity to discover the story behind the story. At the meeting, he will tell how he does that research in a balanced, journalistic way. Long has published articles on the Casey Anthony story and other topics for Empirical Magazine and Harvard’s Neiman Foundation for Journalism. His book on the trial will be published in July.
All Tampa Bay area professional freelance nonfiction writers and authors interested in future membership are invited to BAPWG monthly meetings. Site is the Panera Bread Company community meeting room, Bardmoor Plaza, Starkey & Bryan Dairy Roads, Largo, the fourth Monday at 1:00 p.m. Most attendees stay for lunch and networking.
