TAMPA, Fla. (March 28, 2014) – The best-selling female artist of all time, singer and songwriter Mariah Carey, stopped by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa Thursday night (March 27) to help celebrate the property’s 10th anniversary. The intimate setting was the property’s PLUM VIP Lounge, with 80 invite-only guests.
To mark the occasion, Carey graciously donated a dress from her massive number one hit “Obsessed” music video to the infamous Hard Rock Memorabilia collection. In the video for her platinum-selling lead single, “Obsessed” – from the 2009 album “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” – Carey showcased this unique dress, which was designed by iconic fashion designer Roberto Cavalli.
The video was directed and shot by acclaimed movie director Brett Ratner at the Plaza Hotel in Carey’s native New York City. The dress is featured in both the original and the remix music videos for the song. “Obsessed” went on to become one of Carey’s most memorable videos, helping the song sell nearly two million digital downloads and become a bonafide smash worldwide.
In addition to donating the dress, Carey also cut a special anniversary cake as baked by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa’s own Sweet Genius Pastry Chef Alon Gontowski.
