ST. PETERSBURG, FL (March 26, 2014) – YES, the iconic British progressive rock band from the 1970s, will come to The Mahaffey Theater for its 2014 summer tour, An Evening with Yes, Saturday, Aug. 2 at 8 p.m. The tour will feature two of the band’s classic albums and its latest release.

YES will perform for the first-time ever in its entirety, Fragile, the 1971 groundbreaking album and offer a repeat performance of 1972s Close to the Edge from last year’s tour. During the encore, the group – bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White, keyboardist Geoff Downes and singer Jon Davison – will perform material from Heaven and Earth, the band’s new album to be released July 8.
Chris Squire and Jon Anderson founded YES in 1968 and created some of the most important and influential music in rock history. Fragile, which sold more than two million copies, peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Album charts in the United States. Close to the Edge, a gold-certified album, charted in the U.S. for 32 week, peaking at No. 3. It was named one of the “100 Greatest Guitar Albums of All Time” by Guitar World in 2006 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest progressive rock albums ever recorded.
YES has sold more than 50 million records during its 46-year career. Iconic songs include “Roundabout,” “Close to the Edge,” “I’ve Seen All Good People” and “Owner of a Lonely Heart.”
