|Contest Winners to Receive $500 Prize and Matching Donation to a Non-Profit of Their Choosing
Bradenton, Fla. – The Bradenton Marauders and the Bradenton Herald today announced the “All-Stars Among Us” program to recognize All-Stars in the local community. Winners will be recognized in a pre-game ceremony before the 2014 Florida State League All-Star Game sponsored by the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau on Saturday, June 14 at McKechnie Field. In addition to the on-field recognition, each winner also receives a $500 cash prize and a $500 matching donation to the non-profit of their choice.
“All-Stars Among Us” was created to recognize community members who have made a positive impact on Manatee County. Nominees will be accepted in three separate categories: Youth Education & Athletics, First Responders, and Non-Profit Volunteers. Three winners will be selected in each category. All nominees must maintain a residence in Manatee County in order to be eligible.
Nominations will be accepted in written or video format. Written submissions should be 400 words or fewer and must be typed. Video submissions should be no more than two minutes in length. Each individual nomination can only be submitted in one format or the other. A nominee cannot be listed in multiple categories.
Video nominations should be submitted through the Bradenton Herald website at www.Bradenton.com/AllStars. The site will be active from April 1 – April 30. Type-written nominations should be mailed to:

All submissions will be evaluated by an All-Star panel of judges. A Marauders staff member will notify all winners by May 16. Winners will be announced publicly in the Bradenton Herald in early June.
The Florida State League All-Star game pits the best players from the League’s North Division against their counterparts from the South Division each June. The 2014 All-Star Game, the 53rd in the League’s history, is the first to be held at McKechnie Field in Bradenton. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. on June 14 with gates opening at 4:30. Included in the pre-game festivities is a home run derby and live music from Matthew Huff at the Yuengling Plaza Bar. Post-game there will be spectacular fireworks and a concert.

Group pricing is available for groups of 10 or more. The first 1,500 group tickets sold will include a commemorative All-Star Game Tumbler.
