March 27 honors the national dish of Spain
Tampa, Fla. (March 25, 2014) – National Spanish Paella Day is March 27 and all four Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant locations are honoring the national dish of Spain with celebratory food and drink specials.
“We believe this authentic Spanish dish deserves a week-long celebration,” said Dennis Trujillo, general manager of Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant Tampa. “To mark the holiday, we put a special twist on the signature dish and it’s only available until March 31.”
Paella originated in Valencia, a city on the eastern coast of Spain, in the mid 19th century. Traditionally prepared over an open flame, paella ingredients include white rice, saffron and olive oil with various meats, seafood and vegetables.
To celebrate this occasion Ceviche has created a special paella with jumbo lump crab, lobster tail, scallops, shrimp, squid, chicken and mild chorizo sausage simmered in saffron rice. “Crab and Lobster Paella” is available for $39 at all four Ceviche locations until March 31, 2014.
Ceviche’s sommelier has paired the special paella with the Napa Cellars Pinot Noir. The saffron of the paella accentuates this Napa Valley pinot noir’s fresh red cherry fruit flavor, and the smooth tannins and balanced acidity withstand the complex flavors of the dish.
Ceviche is also excited to introduce an expanded wine list with New World wines, including varietals from California, Washington State and South American vineyards.
The new labels complement the extensive choices of Iberian Peninsula wines for which the Ceviche wine list has long been famous.
