Brooksville, Florida (February 1, 2014) – Live Oak Theatre Company, a not-for-profit family oriented theatre company, has limited openings for its fifth annual performing arts summer program from Monday through Friday, June 23 through June 27. Camp will be held at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 200 Mt. Fair Ave., Brooksville, FL, 34601.
Enrollment is currently limited to 50 campers and 25 campers have already registered.
Camp will be held from 10 am to 4 pm with a lunch break and time taken for snacks. (Children must bring their own lunch, drinks, and healthy snacks.) Arrangements can be made for early drop-off/late pick up, on a case by case basis.
Suggested donation for tuition is $150.
The camp is open to children from ages 7 – 18. Special arrangements may be made for younger children based on interview and audition. Campers will be split into three age groups.
The campers will learn various concepts of musical theatre including:
- Vocal technique
- Song interpretation
- Movement to music
- Auditioning skills
- Stage make-up
- Set/costume theory and technique
- Acting skills such as:
- Improve technique
- And much more
The faculty currently includes Randi Olsen, Jessica Lucas, Ellen Sanborn, David Sanborn, Misty Hornsby, Myndee Washington, Vince Vanni, and additional guest faculty.

LOT is currently producing The Lion, the, Witch, and the Wardrobe, adapted by Don Quinn, from the C.S. Lewis Story, and produced by special arrangements with the Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois. Additional music is provided by Mike Phipps, Peter Curtis, Jessica Lucas, and Randi Olsen.
Performances will be held on April 18, 19, 25, 26, and 27. All performances will be held at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church at 200 Mount Fair Avenue, Brooksville, Florida 34601. Friday and Saturday performances will be at 7:30 pm and Sunday matinee performance will be held at 2:30 pm. There will be an additional Matinee performance on Saturday, April 19 at 2:30 pm.
The show opens on April 18, Good Friday. For this reason, the Good Friday performance is FREE. Donations will be accepted, but are not required. A news release announcing free ticket distribution will be distributed the first week of April.
