Come watch The Second Time Arounders Marching Band prepare for their rare TV performance in the Cherry Blossom Parade!
(ST. PETERSBURG, March 2014) – Come and watch as the Second Time Arounders Marching Band prepare their 3-1/2 minute feature for the National Cherry Blossom Parade TV cameras in Washington DC – April 12, 2014!
When: Saturday, 8:30am – noon
Where: Admiral Farragut Academy, Park Street North, St. Petersburg
Why: Band Camp so the Band can prepare their 3-1/2 minute feature for the TV cameras during the National Cherry Blossom parade
In addition to marching in the parade as many marching bands do, the Second Time Arounders have been extended a rare invitation to perform a 3-1/2 minute feature for the TV cameras, LIVE, in front of the grandstands!
Their performance will be filled with patriotism and Americana – powerful music, an abundance of red, white, and blue, plus stunning visual effects that will leave the crowd proud Americans and smiling from ear to ear!
Ages 18-85, 32 years in the making, and about 450 members strong…the Second Time Arounders Marching Band is the first all-ages band in the country! The Band proudly supports arts and music programs in local schools.

The Greater St. Petersburg Area Awesome, Original, Second Time Arounders Marching Band was founded in 1983 by Bill Findeison, the conductor, and Herb Melleney, then director of the Festival of States. The Band was formed to give folks who ever played in a high school, college, or military marching band, the chance to do it a “second time around”. The Band has about 500 members ranging in age from 18-85. The Band has made appearances in festivals and marched in parades all over the world including Key West, FL; Portland, OR; Orlando, FL; Dublin, Ireland; San Antonio, TX; Savannah, GA; New York City
