|Bradenton, FL – Friday, March 7, 2014, Founders of Leinenkugel’s Brewery, from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, stopped into Motorworks Brewing on their way to throw the first pitch of the Pirates v. Twins game, two blocks South at McKechnie Field. Motorworks Brewing Production Manager, Dave Byrn, commented about the brothers, Jake, John and Dick Leinenkugel, “They were open, friendly and even shared some Kolsch style Brewing tips.” They won Gold Metal for their Kolsch style, entered in the German Beer Portion of The Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado last year. Bob Haa, Head Brewer for Motorworks Brewing, also added, “They were very nice people. It was especially interesting to meet a family with a brewing history like that.” Bob was referring to the fact that the brewery has been in the Leinenkugel family since 1867. Motorworks Brewing is Bradenton’s first and only microbreweries, therefore having fellow brewers from across the nation seek us out is a true compliment, as well as an important step in our growing business.
