ST. PETERSBURG, FL (March 11, 2014) – If you’ve never heard Queen’s “We Will Rock You” or Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water” set to a furious fusion of guitars, drums and bagpipes, you’ll have your chance on Saturday, April 12 at Al Lang Stadium in downtown St. Petersburg’s world-famous waterfront district.
Direct from Glasgow, Scotland, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers will bring their unique high energy “Bagrock” to St. Petersburg as the special musical attraction for the Tampa Bay Rowdies when the NASL professional soccer club kicks-off their 2014 season on April 12. “This is the beginning of a brand new era in Tampa Bay pro sports,” said club principal owner Bill Edwards. “Not only are we working hard to put a winner on the field, but we are also paying much closer attention to the entire fan experience from the time people enter the stadium until the time they leave at the end of an action packed night.”
Among the upgrades to the 2014 Rowdies fan experience is the addition of more than 1,000 new premium seats, including the VIP Midfielder’s Club.
The Red Hot Chilli Pipers exploded in Europe after winning the BBC talent competition “When Will I Be Famous?” in 2007.
