Lakeland, FL – Watson Clinic recently received the highest level of recognition as a Patient Centered Medical Home from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), a non-profit organization devoted to improving health care quality.
To be deemed a Patient Centered Medical Home, a medical practice must meet strict criteria in delivering an all-inclusive, convenient and consistent healthcare experience for each patient. This model is based upon a variety of factors, including the establishment of an ongoing, personal relationship between a patient and their primary care provider.
“At the Watson Clinic, the doctor/patient relationship is the center of everything that we do and our patients trust in the care and guidance that they are given by their physician,” explained Dr. Louis S. Saco, chief executive officer of Watson Clinic. “The ease of being referred to additional Watson Clinic physicians when further specialized care or testing is needed is a reflection of our one-stop shopping approach, which makes the delivery of healthcare more effective and efficient. Our patients appreciate this and place great value in our healthcare delivery system.”
Currently, five Watson Clinic locations have been honored with ‘Level 3 Recognition’ as Patient Centered Medical Homes by the NCQA, including the Main Clinic, Bartow, Lakeland Highlands, South and Plant City facilities. These facilities focus on providing primary care resources to new and established patients; while Watson Clinic’s additional locations are devoted to specialty, ancillary care.
“The Watson Clinic way of delivering healthcare services has evolved over our 73-year history,” Dr. Saco continued. “Our quality improvement department has been a huge part of this evolution, because true to the Watson Clinic way, they have placed the patient first, always listening to patient feedback and taking action to create a better experience for all.” Dr. Saco explained that the quality improvement department works in conjunction with CMS and participating health plans to continually look at patient outcomes and identify opportunities to improve the care provided at the Watson Clinic. “By putting the patient at the center of all we do, the Patient-Centered Medical Home model allows patients more personal and active involvement in their own healthcare.”
Watson Clinic’s primary care department features the talents of highly experienced family medicine and internal medicine physicians, and the convenience of multiple locations and open appointment availability.
