Palm Harbor, Fla., March 7, 2014 — With the 2014 Valspar Championship less than a week away, the second annual Astellas presents Executive Women’s Day at the Valspar Championship promises to be an amazing experience. The day-long event at Innisbrook Resort’s Stirling Hall on Monday, March 10th will bring together influential women from the Tampa Bay area to participate in an engaging day, taking on topics vital to their professional and personal development.
“We’re delighted the PGA TOUR and Astellas have once again selected the Valspar Championship as one of the PGA TOUR events to host an Executive Women’s Day this year,” said Valspar Championship Tournament Director Kevin Krisle. “As evidenced by their regular sell-outs, the Executive Women’s Days are proving to be impactful, educational and beneficial to professional women everywhere. So, we are looking forward to that continuing at this year’s Valspar Championship.”
The day begins with a breakfast and networking opportunity, to be followed by a Power Panel Discussion that includes:
• Angela Ordolino – Founder, Tampa Bay Parenting
• Kanika Tomalin – Deputy Mayor, St. Petersburg
• Cynthia Arnold – Chief Technology Officer, Valspar
• Dr. Kathleen Moore – President, Women in Leadership and Anthropology, Associate VP for Academic Affairs, USCF
Following the breakfast and panel discussion, the participants will take part in an “Inside the Ropes” tour, featuring stops at the Experience sponsored by Astellas, scoring trailer and agronomy-related areas.
The lunch program will feature Dawna Stone as the keynote speaker. An entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker, Stone is also a self-made millionaire and health, fitness and wellness expert. She has been featured on The Today Show, MARTHA and morning news programs on NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX. She founded Women’s Running magazine and the Women’s Half Marathon series, helping thousands lead healthier lives.
Following lunch, the program shifts to the “Networking Function” portion of the day where the local, regional and national businesswomen will enjoy a unique opportunity to connect with other professional women in the area.

The PGA TOUR and Astellas Pharma US, Inc. (“Astellas”), a U.S. subsidiary of Tokyo-based Astellas Pharma Inc. (Tokyo: 4503), introduced the first Astellas Presents Executive Women’s Day in Februrary at the Honda Classic Tournament. The event is part of a 3-year agreement between the TOUR and Astellas in which Astellas will champion the PGA TOUR’s commitment to its new Women’s Initiative.
