TAMPA, FL (March 6, 2014) NYSE, TSX: STN Woody Moore, PhD, PE, has joined Stantec’s Tampa office as a senior principal in the firm’s transportation practice. In Florida, Moore will lead the development and growth of Stantec’s transit and rail practice in the Southeast. He recently transferred from Stantec’s Dallas, Texas office, where he was the regional business leader for the US West transportation practice.
Moore is recognized nationally as a transit/rail expert with significant experience in Central and South Florida involving the development of federal and state grant applications, alternatives analysis, public involvement, and preparation of engineering and environmental documents.
With more than 45 years of experience, Moore has been involved with all aspects of transportation, from initial phases of feasibility through construction, with construction values ranging from less than $1 million to more than $10 billion.
More recently, he has been involved in contracting for and managing projects procured through alternative project delivery (APD) methods such as design-build, public-private-partnerships and construction management general consultant. He has an extensive project development and environment (PD&E) background having completed twelve major projects for the Florida DOT in Districts 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
Moore is a licensed professional engineer in Florida and several other states in addition to being a member of the Design-Build Institute of America. He is a life member and fellow with the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Florida Engineering Society and the Institute of Transportation Engineers. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University in Indiana.
