March 6, 2014 –Bradenton, FL – The River Strand Ladies Golf League is holding its 2nd “Play with a Pro” event to raise funds for The Food Bank of Manatee. League members will bid on the opportunity to play with a local golf professional who will offer advice and coaching. Proceeds from the event will count toward the Feinstein Challenge, the annual campaign by philanthropist Allen Shawn Feinstein to support food banks.
The “Play with a Pro” event organizers, Ellen Histen Kibbe and Lynne Swindler, wanted to create a fun outing while serving a critical need in the community. Their inaugural event in 2013 raised over $6,300 for The Food Bank of Manatee. More than a dozen teams of four played 18 holes with their chosen Pro and then enjoyed a celebratory lunch in the River Strand Clubhouse.
“Food is a need that everyone can understand,” said Histen Kibbe. “We were blown away by the positive response we received last year, and we hope to generate even more food, funds and awareness for The Food Bank of Manatee this year!”
