TAMPA, Fla. (March 3, 2014) – Lighthouse Guidance Systems, Inc. (LGS) has changed the name of its educational software LGS Connect to Guidmii (pronounced guide-me). The Florida-based education technology company is rebranding and recently launched its new website, www.lighthouseguidancesystems.com.
Guidmii provides assistance to guidance counselors and school administrators for monitoring student academic progression. By utilizing Guidmii’s text message infrastructure, counselors can schedule appointments with students and parents, as well as track GPA performance via text. Using the system, students can create a personalized academic track that tells them what they need to achieve to be accepted into the college or university of their choice.
The academic planning software application was originally released in May 2013, and is currently implemented in school districts throughout the Tampa Bay area.
“We are pleased to announce a new product name which communicates to both current and potential customers what our product offers,” said William Farragut, CEO of LGS. “We also believe that it’s a name and look that will resonate with today’s educational community and reinforce the company’s position as a forward-thinking, sophisticated and savvy technology corporation.”
Founded by Farragut in 2010, LGS has been developing programs with the goal of advancing modern education. In August 2012, the company joined the Tampa Bay Technology Incubator, part of USF CONNECT at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
