March 3, 2014 – Sarasota, Florida – Thomas G. Quale, Market President, Bay Cities Bank announced today the bank has taken occupancy of a downtown Sarasota location. The Sarasota offices of the bank are now located in the Center Pointe Office Center, Suite #100, at 2033 Main Street at the intersection of Fletcher Avenue one block east of North Washington Boulevard.
Bay Cities Bank, headquartered in Tampa, took the first steps towards the establishment of a Sarasota market presence with the hiring of Quale in September 2013. Quale joined Bay Cities from his previous post as Sarasota Market Executive for Orlando-based Seaside Bank & Trust.
In making the announcement, Quale commented, “Bay Cities Bank has received an overwhelmingly positive response from Sarasota area business clients.” He continued, “Opening our banking location near the center of the downtown business center is the first step towards establishing a prominent position in the Sarasota area banking industry with a permanent full service banking center.”
Gregory W. Bryant, Bay Cities President and CEO, noted “In a short amount of time, Bay Cities Bank has built solid banking relationships with many Sarasota and Manatee County businesses. We credit this progress to the excellent team we have assembled in the market area, coupled with the use of remote banking technology.” Bryant continued, “Technology is a game changer for banks reaching out to new markets and has leveled the playing field for community banks competing with regional and nation-wide banks.”
Bay Cities Management plans to open a full service banking center in Sarasota proper in the coming year. On this point, Quale stated, “We are taking a methodical and conservative approach to establishing our first permanent location in the Sarasota market area and for this reason we opted to establish a Loan Production Office first.” Quale added, “We are assessing a number of opportunities and as we build our market presence we will make an informed location decision best suiting the needs of our clients.”
Leading the lending effort at the Sarasota office is Commercial Lending Senior Vice President, Sean P. Powers, who also left Seaside Bank & Trust to join Bay Cities in September 2013. Vice President Linda S. Braithwaite, also formerly of Seaside Bank & Trust, leads the Treasury Management effort at the Bay Cities Sarasota location.
