|Sarasota – February 24, 2014 – All Faiths Food Bank will benefit from the “Green House Gala” hosted by Stephen and Michelle Hazeltine at Hazeltine Nurseries in Venice on Friday, April 4, 2014, at 7 p.m. Guests are invited to dress for garden party fabulous and experience a different kind of Sarasota gala. Funds raised from the sale of tickets and mini-silent auction will help support the Food Bank’s Campaign Against Summer Hunger which runs from April 1-May 10, 2014.
Hazeltine Nurseries will be transformed for guests to enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner catered by Mattison’s, and dancing to music by popular local entertainer Jonathan Cortez. Sponsors include the Macrae Family Foundation, Spotlight Graphics and Venice Magazine.
Beyond the food, friends and fun, the Green House Gala will invite guests to join the community-wide Campaign Against Summer Hunger. 21,000 Sarasota County students (50%) receive free and reduced lunch at school. During the summer, those kids – and their siblings and families – may go without regular meals. All Faiths Food Bank is leading the Campaign Against Summer Hunger to encourage Sarasota residents to “empty their shelves” and make a cash gift so no child in our community goes hungry. Campaign information and the many opportunities to participate can be found online at www.SkipALunch.org.
“Because of this campaign, we are in a position to expand programs to help feed kids this summer,” said Sandra Frank, CEO of All Faiths Food Bank. “We are so thankful for the benefits, food drives, donations, and the efforts of a community that cares about the thousands of children who need our help.”
