Event to be held on March 1, 2014
TAMPA, FL, (February 24, 2014) Grow Financial, one of the leading Credit Unions in the nation, announced they will participate in the Young Women’s Leadership Symposium for the 6th consecutive year in a row. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, March 1 from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Columbia Restaurant in historic Ybor City.
The 2014 Young Women’s Leadership Symposium promotes the development of our future women leaders by giving them access to influential business women in the Tampa Bay area, such as Kimberly Woollard, Chief Human Resources Officer for Grow Financial Federal Credit Union, one of the event chairs for the symposium.
Woollard has become the “go to” person for many other HR professionals and business leaders in the area and continues to represent Grow Financial on various committees and in other organizations. In 2011, the National Diversity Council named Woollard “one of the most powerful and influential women for 2011”. Kim is also a member of the Tampa Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Tampa Class of 2014.
This year’s symposium will focus on leadership, personal brand management and career/college planning, as well as feature keynote speaker, Maja Kazazic. Maja was a normal 16 year-old girl in Bosnia when, in 1993, a mortar shell fell into her courtyard and critically injured her. Her legs were shattered and her face and arm were peppered with shrapnel. During her session, Maja will focus on her blueprint for success and how to lay the right foundation for it.
“I am honored to be able to take part in this special event each year and speak to the young women attendees”, said Woollard. “Those attending the symposium will be able to hear from real people who have redefined the image of women in society.”
