Yoga Boot-camp- Sweat, jump, Barre, relax all in one class
Tampa, FL, February 20,2014 — In today’s fast paced society, most people are trying to fit in as much as they can within a 24 hour period. Juggling work, kids, errands, a home, etc., can make you feel like there are not enough hours in a day. And then on top of all that, there is the drive to work out to maintain a healthy long life. This makes choosing the right fitness program an important choice. Many people know they need yoga to deal with the stress of life, but they also need cardio to burn calories and sweat out toxins. Oh, and how about heart health? Doctors advise adding weight bearing exercises into your routine, too. Yoga Boot-camp, created by local fitness expert Ashley Halley, brings all of these elements together in a one hour class format.
Interested in fitness and healthy lifestyle from a young age, Halley set out across the globe training with leading experts in the yoga and fitness fields. She studied yoga with yoga superstar, Shiva Rea, learning the impact breathing and stretching have on the health of the body. Then she took off to Los Angeles, to learn all she could about the Tracey Anderson Method of targeting small muscle groups to improve physique and increase slimness. Over the years, her knowledge continued to grow as she studied core fitness, plyometrics, Barre, TRX. She holds dual certificates as a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and as a Personal Trainer.
“I took my learnings from the past 10 years of study and developed this Yoga Bootcamp class. I kept seeing yoga students that were getting injured due to lack of muscle strength. Students were also sharing their dilemma of fitting everything they knew their body needed into their already full schedules. I knew I could help,” says Halley.
The result from training and student insight is Yoga Boot-camp, a cross training workout that blends targeted yoga stretching with interval training and cardio bursts to increase endurance, stability, focus, and power. When Ashley Halley walks into the class, she has a bag full of props. Her overloaded bag includes various types of resistance bands used to help students achieve the benefits to muscle and bone development arrived from weight-building exercises. But it will also contain an assortment of balls so students can give themselves a self-massage to roll out tightness or lactic acid build-up from their muscles. It is this balance of working hard and nurturing the body that sets the class apart as something truly unique to the fitness options in the area.
Student Jessica Bull says, “This class is a game changer for me. I have gotten stronger, leaner, and more flexible than I ever imagined. We work hard, but it seems I’m smiling and laughing half the class too! It’s made me a happier mom, wife, and person.”
“I took the things I love about yoga and what I know builds strength and incorporated them into one class. This program addresses stabilizing the joints and improving agility, strength, and balance,” says Halley.
