– Gato Barbieri’s Latest Show to Make-up for Postponed September Event –
Tampa, Fla. (February 20, 2014) – After months of waiting, fans of Argentine saxophonist, Gato Barbieri, will finally be able to see the legendary musician play live in Tampa Bay. Back in September, Barbieri was forced to postpone. All tickets were refunded.
In a statement, Barbieri’s management team said, “Gato was so disappointed to have to postpone September’s sold out show. He is thrilled to be able to return to Tampa Bay and perform with his band for his longtime fans.”
About Gato Barbieri: The popular jazz saxophonist and composer has been thrilling fans since the 1960’s when he rose to fame during the free jazz movement. His most recent and 50th album, called New York Meeting was released in 2009. Currently Gato is touring and collaborating with director, Nancy Savoca, on a documentary called “el Gato: A lifetime contribution to Jazz.” He is the recipient of a U.N.I.C.E.F award and is currently composing a collaborative CD for U.N.I.C.E.F on behalf of the children of Argentina.
