TAMPA, FL — The South Tampa Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Kelly A. Flannery has been named as the Chamber’s new President and CEO. Flannery will begin work in her new position on February 24.
“I am honored to take on this new role at the South Tampa Chamber,” said Flannery. “The Chamber’s work is vital to our city’s businesses and I look forward to working with the Chamber’s board, volunteers, and staff to truly create a business and community resource.”

As the Chamber’s President and CEO Flannery will oversee the staff and work closely with the Board of Directors. Flannery’s main focus this year will be to elevate the Chamber in the community and to build stronger ties for the organization’s member businesses with MacDill Air Force Base, local government offices and the residents of South Tampa.
Chair of the Chamber’s Board, Starr Tyrka, said, “We are excited to have Kelly as our new CEO, she brings strong ties to our community and a love for South Tampa that is evident in all she does. She presented us with a clear direction of growth for our membership and is an advocate for business and community development, and military and government awareness. We look forward to her joining our team of Directors and strengthening our Chamber’s relationship with the community it serves.”
A Tampa native, Flannery is a graduate of H.B. Plant High School and the Florida State University with a degree in Political Science.
