|WHAT: The American Girl Fashion Show is a fun and educational show for girls ages six and older to enjoy with their families, friends and favorite dolls. Participants in the American Girl Fashion Show celebrate being a girl, both yesterday and today, by wearing historically-accurate outfits from various time periods. Through an interactive presentation of historical and contemporary fashions, the purpose of the show is to demonstrate how clothing has changed over the years, reflecting history, culture and girls’ individual styles.
WHO: The Fashion Show consists of school-age girl models and teenage girl commentators who are each from the local community and have an interest in voluntarism and giving back to children in need. This year, Summer Smith, Bay News 9, Hayley Weilgus, WWSB ABC7, and Lulu, 1065 CTQ, will each serve as a Celebrity Host.

WHY: The show is hosted by Junior League of Manatee County (JLMC) in an effort to raise money for its many community projects, each benefiting foster kids and children in need throughout Manatee County, including Kids in the Kitchen, a healthy eating initiative, and Junior League Gives Back, an honor-roll incentive program for elementary students. All event proceeds go back into the community.
