USF College of Nursing does this as part of the USF College of Nursing Bulls Encouraging and Assisting through Research and Scholarship (B.E.A.R.S.) program. The college created B.E.A.R.S. in an effort to provide alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends with a new way to support USF College of Nursing while impacting the community. During the 2013 holiday season, the college delivered more than 800 bears to pediatric patients at six hospitals in the Tampa Bay area.
The donated teddy bears are charitable gifts that contribute to the USF Unstoppable campaign, a comprehensive fundraising effort by the University of South Florida to celebrate the energy, vision and future of one of the country’s most exciting and engaged universities.
