(Tampa, FL, February 13, 2014) Ybor City celebrates BB&T Fiesta Day Saturday, February 22nd from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This free, family-oriented street festival honors the Cuban, Spanish, Italian, German and Romanian immigrants who settled Ybor City in the late 1800’s.
“Enjoy the Historic District at its best,” urges Tom Keating, President of the Ybor City Chamber. “Participate in our Latin Adventure raffle for two, round-trip tickets to Panama on one of Tampa’s newest carriers, COPA Airlines.”
The Maxima Stage on 7th Avenue will feature the La Calle Band and the Latin Wave Quartet as well as SOMOS Flamenco Company. Many Ybor restaurants will be featured in the Sabor de Ybor. Guests will be able to sample “gourmet street food” from one end of La Setima to the other. Arte de Ybor will include not only Ybor’s own “creative retail,” but also quality arts & crafts vendors from around the Bay Area.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Busch Gardens and the Lowry Park Zoo will all be back this year, in addition to over 90 vendors including Bernini’s, Ybor City’s best-known Italian Restaurant. Ybor’s unique Social Clubs, Circulo Cubano and the L’Unione Italiana will bring their ethnic flair to the festivities. While you are in the neighborhood, visit the Flan Fest presented by the Ybor Saturday Market in Centennial Park.
