Tampa, Fla. – February 11, 2014 – Darren Impson, owner of Paul Davis Restoration and Remodeling of Tampa will continue to participate with his team of restoration and reconstruction professionals at the “Building Community Together” effort in Tampa Heights. A formal event was held on Tuesday, February 11. Impson and his crews joined numerous local volunteers who worked on the Tampa Heights Community Center project at 602 E. Palm Ave in Tampa, Fla. Currently a vacant church that was built in 1905, upon completion, the community center will serve approximately 200 children living in the community while teaching computer skills, encouraging healthy eating habits, providing other learning opportunities, and more.
Impson and his team joined DIY expert and TV personality Ty Pennington along with local volunteers during the Feb. 11 media day which formally announced the project initiative with Sears Home Services. Paul Davis began its participation in the local effort in 2011 to help the youth organization while providing labor, materials, suppliers and vendor relationships, and to help all of the other businesses participating in the project. Now, with the assistance of Sears Homes Services, the nation’s largest product repair service provider, the Paul Davis office and local leaders will continue to partner in the completion of the project to help improve the neighborhood in Tampa Heights.
To date, Impson has donated labor and materials as part of the Paul Davis Restoring America program, a home improvement initiative designed to provide time, labor, and materials to a local beneficiary. Beneficiaries include property owners who cannot afford or who are physically unable to fix up their homes or businesses.
“We are honored to help with the renovation of the 10,000 sq. ft. space as a one-stop youth development center and hub for community events and activities,” said Impson. “The renovation continues to be a community-driven effort with a volunteer campaign and an outpouring of support from Tampa Heights residents and the business community,” he said. “This project will provide a safe learning environment for local kids between the ages of 5 and 15, which is such a critical time in a child’s life. This is when they are shaped into the adults that they will become.”
