Gift from Sheri Greenhaus of Cyber M@rketing Services/CRMXchange goes to a permanent endowment for Veterans scholarships.
SARASOTA (February 10, 2014) – A gift of $10,000 from Sheri Greenhaus, managing partner Cyber M@rketing Services/CRMXchange, helped launch the Veterans Legacy Endowment to provide merit scholarships to University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee students who are U.S. military veterans.
“Our web portal, CRMXchange, has long been recognized as a premiere destination for the exchange of information and ideas on customer support and customer service,” said Greenhaus. “Who better represents service than veterans? These are people who put their lives on the line every day. Their dedication and service provides people in this country the freedom to start and grow a business. I also believe that education is essential for success. So when I learned that I could help veterans, and at that same time support education through this scholarship program at USF Sarasota-Manatee, it seemed like a natural fit.”
The Veterans Legacy Endowment will fund scholarships that help cover gaps in federal funding for veterans, and will assist students with tuition and other needs. The goal is to enable veterans to complete their education without interruption due to financial hardship.
“USFSM is so appreciative of the generosity shown by Sheri Greenhaus in helping to establish the Veterans Legacy Endowment,” said Dennis Stover, regional vice chancellor for advancement. “Her gift, along with generous matching grant funding from The Patterson Foundation and those who gave during the Legacy of Valor Campaign will enable us to support our student veterans for years to come.”
USF Sarasota-Manatee began a veterans’ initiative with the Veterans Legacy Scholarship, created as a part of the Legacy of Valor matching funds campaign. This community-driven partnership with The Patterson Foundation honors the service and sacrifice of veterans and their families.
During the campaign, from Oct. 15 to Nov. 15, USFSM raised over $19,000 from 86 individual donors, all of which was matched by The Patterson Foundation. Legacy of Valor donations and Ms. Greenhaus’s gift provide the seed funds for the Veteran’s Legacy Endowment.
USF Sarasota-Manatee has over 120 student veterans currently enrolled in classes and offers a wide variety of services through the Veterans Services office on campus. In addition, USF was named the fourth most veteran-friendly college in the country by Military Times.
