|The Bridge Street Merchants are hosting an evening of Bluegrass. The Bridge Street event will take place on Historic Bridge Street in Bradenton Beach on Anna Maria Island Saturday February 22nd 5-10 p.m.
The event will feature great food and a full bar with beer, wine, and liquor. Entrance is free to the public and promises a Fun Family experience. Melissa Enders, event coordinator explains, “With fewer art and craft vendors, there will be plenty of space for folks to bring their own blankets and chairs and sit back and enjoy the band with a cold beer and tasty food from local food vendors. The event will happen in the same lot used for the popular Sunday Markets held November-April every Sunday 10-3pm, right on historic Bridge Street, adjacent to the Fish Hole Adventure Golf.
For those who can’t sit still, dancing, hula hooping, and shopping for handmade crafts are welcome at this family-friendly event. William Brusso young local Talent from Anna Maria Island will be starting off the evening playing music 5-7. Then the band, State Road 64 will be playing 7-10pm. They have played on Anna Maria Island, with regular gigs throughout Tampa/St. Pete. State Road 64 got its start at the Anna Maria Island arts HOP in 2009. One of the galleries requested some musicians to play for the crowd and Howard Bard got a group together. The evening was such a success, that they started getting requests to play other venues. SR 64 is a blend of vintage and contemporary bluegrass music, country and originals as well. High energy exudes from this all acoustic band. It’s members come from all around our country, which brings in numerous flavors and influences ranging from straight hard driving bluegrass, country, rock, blues and classical as well. So come on, stick out y’er thumb and take a ride with SR 64!
Parking is available at the three piers area just south of Bridge Street with additional parking available at the City Pier or in the city lot behind Bridge Street Bistro but organizers suggest event attendees take advantage of the free island trolley which runs until 10:30pm. With over 80 spots throughout Anna Maria and a stop right at Bridge Street, it is the best way to travel and to not have to worry about parking.
