TAMPA, Fla. – Ad 2 Tampa Bay, a network of young advertising professionals, has been selected to strengthen advertising education in Tampa Bay through the Cynthia Bentley-DeNight Mentorship Fund. Tona Bell, former colleague of Cynthia Bentley-DeNight and owner of Tricycle Studios, and Mark Bentley, Cynthia’s brother and owner of Mark Bentley, P.A, created this fund.
“Cynthia was a dear friend and mentor to me in my early days of advertising,” said Tona Bell of Tricycle Studios. “She helped shape my dedication and love for the industry. I hope to further the mentorship she provided to myself and others in this lasting way.”
In the fund’s inaugural year, two new AAF-sanctioned clubs will be created at the Art Institute of Tampa and University of Tampa. The fund covers the cost of 10 members’ dues and the amount needed to officially establish a club. Ad 2 Tampa Bay will provide guidance and the best practices for running a successful AAF organization.
The Cynthia Bentley-DeNight Fund will help fund opportunities to dozens of young advertising and marketing students. Ultimately, it will create a highly positive impact within the local industry by helping retain talent in the Tampa Bay area.
“My sister cared deeply about fostering the passion of young professionals, which was evident every time she spoke to them,” said Mark Bentley. “This fund speaks to Cynthia’s ongoing concern and dedication to mentoring young professionals.”
