SARASOTA (February 7, 2014) – Andrew Telatovich, USF Sarasota-Manatee’s new Director of Admissions, will oversee the university’s Admissions and Outreach areas and work closely with the campus community to continue to attract and enroll superior students who can succeed, graduate and move on to meaningful careers.
“I’m really excited about joining USFSM during the university’s first year with freshmen on campus and being a part of the transformation that comes with this happening,” said Telatovich. “There are also so many new things occurring, such as the Culinary Innovation Lab and the new teaching labs at Mote Marine Laboratory, so it will be great seeing our students take advantage of these opportunities and go on to do wonderful things in their professions down the road.”
Originally from Minnesota, Telatovich earned a bachelor’s in Public Relations from Georgia State University and a master’s in Communication Arts from the University of West Florida. He also has over 15 years of admissions and outreach work experience at the University of West Florida’s Office of Admissions, where he succeeded in various capacities, including as admissions counselor, assistant director of admissions and associate director of admissions. He brings extensive experience with key data base systems and technology used in recruitment, admissions and enrollment communications to his new position at USFSM.
“Andy brings a wealth of admissions and outreach expertise from the University of West Florida,” said Mary Beth Wallace, dean of students. “With his knowledge from within the Florida State University System coupled with an extensive and invaluable technology base, plus his personalized approach to recruiting students, we are proud to add him to our team at USFSM’s Office of Student Services.”
Teletovich was a collegiate wrestler and became a triathlete more than a decade ago and now enjoys running with his Australian Shepherd near his Anna Maria Island home. “I’ve completed three ironman triathlons, seven marathons, as well as dozens of 5K’s, 10K’s, half-marathons, and other triathlons,” he said.
“USFSM is a great place to work and I love the area,” he added. “Everyone is so friendly and welcoming here and I enjoy being at a place that is so student-centered with people who are passionate about helping them accomplish their goals.”
