Venice, Florida – February 6, 2014 – Venice Golf And Country Club – one of Southwest Florida’s most prestigious private golf communities – celebrated two milestones for women members in 2013. The community elected Linda Cochran as the first-ever woman president of The Club, and Gail Cole as the first-ever woman president of the Master Homeowners Association.
The Venice Golf And Country Club is proud to have one of the most active Women’s Golfing Associations on Florida’s Gulf Coast. While the Club’s nine-member board has regularly included women in its ranks, the election of women presidents to both the Master Homeowners Association and The Club stands as a tribute to true passion and strength of leadership.
A longtime resident of the community, Gail Cole has served on board of the Master Association for over five years prior to her election as its president. Now in the second year of her three-year term, she resides over the five associations serving the neighborhoods within Venice Golf And Country Club: Cheval, Cheval South, Lansbrook, Vestavia, Wellington, and Wentworth. The Master Association oversees all deed restrictions, safety & security, construction standards, roads, lakes, common grounds, and all environmental aspects within the gates of Venice Golf And Country Club.
Also a longtime resident, Linda Cochran brings the experience and intimate community knowledge to best represent the interests of all homeowners. Having served on the board of the Country Club for over three years, she understands the importance of planning, organizing and providing the essential elements to ensure The Club maintains its status as one of the most sought-after country clubs in the region. “Our community is fortunate to have such knowledgeable, passionate leaders such as Gail and Linda at the helm,” said Jim Schell, General Manager of Venice Golf And Country Club. “Through their work, Venice Golf And Country Club continues to be a wonderful place to live and play.”
