St. Petersburg, Fla. – The Junior League of St. Petersburg is excited to present the 3rd annual ‘Showdown on the Playground’ Kickball Tournament and Fun Run on Saturday, March 1st. The first game will kick off at 9:00 AM at Woodlawn Sports Complex at 1701 15th Ave N, St. Petersburg. The deadline to register your kickball team is Wednesday, February 12th.
The Showdown on the Playground is a fun double-elimination kickball tournament with prizes for the winning team and most spirited team. Teams are comprised of 10-14 players per team, and there must be at least 2 female players on each team, and you must be 16 or older to enter. Teams are encouraged to show spirit through many was such as creative costumes and customized chants.
The Kids Fun Run will start at noon and has a $10 entry per child, with each child receiving a prize. The Fun Run is open for all children ages 15 and under and children will be placed with others in their age range. Registration for the Fun Run is open until 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 1, either at the event or visit www.jlstpete.org to register today.
At the event, the Junior League of St. Petersburg will also be collecting canned foods for the St. Petersburg Free Clinic.
Food Trucks and fun activities will be onsite all day, and the after party, open to all, will be at Harvey’s 4th Street Grill. Proceeds from event will support the Junior League of St. Petersburg’s community projects and programs.
