|Bradenton, FL, February 1, 2014 – The Food Bank of Manatee will hold two mobile food distributions in February as part of a “Care and Share” hunger prevention project sponsored by Peace River Electric and the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund. The events will benefit some of the 40,000+ local people living in poverty. They are designed to engage the community, especially businesses, in helping to cure hunger. The first upcoming distribution will be on February 7, 2014 at Woodland Community Church, 9607 E. State Road 70, Bradenton, FL 34202 from 9am-11am. Volunteers from FCCI Insurance will be helping distribute food.
The next distribution will be on February 12th at St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church, 1006 1st St. W., Bradenton, FL 34205 from 10am-12pm. Volunteers from TriNet will assist in distributing the food.
“We hope local businesses will sponsor future giveaways or volunteer at a distribution as a meaningful hands-on way to help those less fortunate”, says Food Bank Director, Cindy Sloan. Businesses interested in participating may call The Food Bank at 941-747-4655.
