SARASOTA, Fla. (February 4, 2014) – The Sarasota County Sports Commission, (SCSC) received a 2014 Reader’s Choice Award for their outstanding professionalism and service in hosting sporting events. The SportsEvents Media Group hosts the Reader’s Choice Awards and is “the leading industry publication focused exclusively on helping sports event planners produce excellent competitions in the United States and Canada.” SCSC was only one of three destinations chosen in Florida.
“We are honored to be selected for this award,” said Nicole Rissler, Sarasota County Sports Commission director. “We strive to provide the best quality of service to our sports event planners. Being recognized by these event planners whom we serve is a true testament to how hard our partners work to ensure no detail is overlooked when hosting events in our area.”
Sports event professionals participated in an online voting system where they voted on sports commissions, destination management organizations and event venues providing outstanding service, hospitality and professionalism to sporting groups.
According to Kristen McIntosh, SportsEvents editor, “These award winners have gone above and beyond to provide the quality sports infrastructure, services and commitment today’s discerning sports event planners demand. These winners have truly set the bar high for the sports events they host.”
