Largo, FL (February 3, 2014) The Armed Forces History Museum welcomes two events in March. Tickets are on sale now for both events.
On Thursday, March 6th, the Armed Forces History Museum is proud to be the hosting venue for GORUCKs “War Stories and Free Beer”. The event will be held in the museums Officers’ Club from 7pm to 9pm. The cost is a $10.00 donation and space is limited. GORUCK has sponsored these presentations all over the country in an effort to give veterans the chance to share their wartime experience. The presentation of these personal stories is intended bridge the gap between the military and the audience. One of the guest speakers for GORUCKs “War Stories and Free Beer” will be Major Ceasar Civitella. MAJ Civitella served in WWII with the Office of Strategic Services, the predecessor to the CIA. He was one of the first to be recruited for the newly formed US Army’s Special Forces. Later, MAJ Civitella worked for the CIA where he was awarded the Intelligence Medal of Merit. MAJ Civitella’s talk – as with all the presentations – will be followed by a Q & A. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Armed Forces History Museum as well as Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. Tickets may be purchased on line at www.goruck.com.
The Classic Car Show will return for its second year on Saturday, March 15th from 11am to 2pm. Guests can witness nearly 75 classic cars from the 1920s to 1990, and will receive a ballot to vote on their favorite cars. Trophies for first, second and third prizes will be awarded. Two food trucks will be on hand for those wishing to purchase food.
