Hudson, Florida (January 29, 2014) – Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point has announced the recipients of its fourth quarter Volunteer Five Star and One Star Awards. The recipients for the Five Star Award are Adrian Borel, Ann Donahue, and Norma Wing. The One Star Award recipients are Greg Vlaikos, Rose Santise and Sharon McTeer.
Adrian Borel has been a volunteer at RMCBP since 1989 and has a total of 11,900 hours. He volunteers four to five times a week in the hospital pharmacy. He is known for his mild manner, pleasant personality, willingness to do all that is expected of him with a great attitude and doing it flawlessly. The level of passion and excitement Adrian brings doesn’t allow for things to overwhelm him or drain him. The way he serves really shows how much he cares and those who Adrian serves see it. The pharmacy department and RMCBP know that Adrian is a volunteer that they can trust and depend on. He is an excellent example of volunteerism.
Ann Donahue works at Welcome A is a Courier and also worked in the volunteer office. Ann has been volunteering since July of 2008 and has a total of 2,800 hours. She is always very helpful to all who come to the window and greets them warmly and with a smile. Ann can be counted on to help substitute whenever asked and is always willing to help at the last minute. She works extremely well with her fellow volunteers, staff and serves our patients and families with kindness.
Norma Wing has been a volunteer since 1996 in several departments but has been volunteering for the last 16 years as a courier dispatcher and has a total of 8,600 hours. She has a wonderful way with her fellow volunteers and is highly respected by them as well as the staff at RMCBP. Her leadership of being efficient, congenial, pleasant and able to handle all situations smoothly makes her valuable to RMCBP.
Greg Vlaikos has only been a volunteer for little over one year but already has over 2500 hours. He works as a cart driver, courier, and recently in Welcome A. Greg always greets everyone with a smile and is very pleasant and eager to help in any way. He is kind, honest, sincere and has a lot of heart. He always goes out of his way to do the right thing – Greg is a man of integrity. He will work anytime he is called upon, extremely reliable, will work double shifts – long hours. Always going above and beyond the ordinary. His fellow volunteers and staff find him a pleasure to be around and RMCBP is lucky to have him.
Rose Santise began her volunteer service at RMCBP in April of 2010 and has a total of 2,100 hours. Rose is a dedicated, loyal and hardworking volunteer who always greets everyone with a smile. You can find her on three different days at Welcome A, Welcome D and the Gift Shop. She is well rounded in her abilities to perform various volunteer service skills and willingness to go the extra mile. Rose is one we can count on to stay longer and work extra if needed. She is an invaluable volunteer for RMCBP.
Sharon McTeer has volunteered since 2001 as a courier and now works in Welcome A. She has a total of 2,750 hours. She has exceptional people skills and is excellent with our visitors, staff, patients and patients’ families. Sharon has a smile and will always make you feel welcomed with her polite mannerism. She is willing to help when needed and gets along with her fellow volunteers. RCMBP finds having her as a volunteer an asset to our organization.
