Erin Duggan, CDME, has worked for Visit Sarasota County for nine years. During that time she has worn many hats, including Director of Communications where she forged close relationships with journalists all over the world. Currently, she serves as Director of Brand and oversees the PR, advertising, promotions, website and content for Visit Sarasota County. Mrs. Duggan received her CDME accreditation in 2012 through Destination Marketing Association International which makes her a Certified Destination Management Executive. Mrs. Duggan serves on the VISIT FLORIDA Communications Committee, and locally has been a member of FPRA and Junior League of Sarasota for over 10 years.
Lynn Hobeck Bates is the Public Relations and Communications Manager at Visit Sarasota County. She is responsible for media relations, e-newsletters, editorial content and engaging with the VSC’s various publics. Lynn has been with the organization for four years. Prior to working at Visit Sarasota County, she worked as the Public Relations Manager at The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art for four years. Lynn has won several awards for her work in public relations and serves on various boards throughout the community. She is a native of Richmond, Virginia and earned a B.A. from James Madison University and a Master’s Degree from Vanderbilt University. Lynn and her husband have a one year-old daughter and have called Sarasota home for the past nine years.
The Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) has been serving Florida public relations professionals for 70 years, being founded in 1938 by Lt. Col. John W. Dillin. FPRA is the oldest public relations organization in the United States. There are 15 professional chapters and many university chapters located throughout Florida, including the Central West Coast Chapter. The Central West Coast Chapter was formed in 1966 and has more than 120 members from Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto counties.
