Rosedale Golf & Country Club Will Host a “Homes For Our Troops” Benefit
(Southwest Florida) Golfers who would like to play for a good cause are invited to join a “best ball” golf tournament hosted by Rosedale Golf & Country Club on Saturday, February 8th. Proceeds will benefit Homes For Our Troops, a non-profit organization that builds handicapped-accessible homes for seriously injured veterans – and provides these homes at no charge.
The format will be “best ball of the foursome” with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Token prizes will be presented afterwards on the patio. Foursomes are welcome (men, ladies or mixed), or individual players will be placed in groups. Golf fees for non-members are $66. The tournament fee is a donation of your choice with checks made payable to HFOT.
This year’s golf event will benefit Sgt. Thongpane Thongdeng, who lost his right leg and was left paralyzed from an IED blast during his first deployment in Afghanistan. A ground-breaking for his new home in Largo was held in September. The previous year, Rosedale contributed towards a new home for SSG Alex Dillman, who was also paralyzed by an IED blast in Afghanistan. His family moved into their new home just last month.
To sign up for the event, call the Rosedale pro shop at 941-756-0004. To learn more about Homes For Our Troops, visit online at www.hfotusa.org.
