Tampa, Fla. (Jan. 16, 2014) – Expand your professional horizons in accounting and auditing with the Certified Management Accountant (CMA®) exam preparation courses offered by the University of South Florida. The CMA® designation is highly recommended for management accounting and finance professionals who work inside organizations where expertise in decision support, planning, and control over value-creating operations is a crucial element of operational success.
“The CMA is a unique credential in the financial community. It prepares accountants for challenges faced by employees in all financial fields, whether it be in a private or public firm, a nonprofit endeavor, or a government agency. The skills and knowledge acquired not only last a lifetime, but are skills actually utilized everyday on the job,” says USF Continuing Education instructor Robert Flannery, CMA®, whose 25-year career involves both managerial accounting and internal auditing.
“The key to success in passing the CMA exam is understanding the basic concepts and then applying that knowledge in solving practice problems,” notes Flannery. The USF instructor-led CMA exam prep series is based on the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA®) CMA Learning System. Students are provided a wealth of material which allows them to work problems addressing all essential elements of the CMA exam. Class sessions are designed to accommodate working professionals’ schedules and meet every other week on Friday evenings and Saturdays. Upcoming courses include:
