(Tampa, FL) Michael L. LaVoy, CFP®, ChFC (LaVoy) and Chief Investment Officer of Beacon Asset Management, Inc. (Beacon) announced today that Paul Sidney Elliott, JD, CFP® (Paul) has joined the Beacon Wealth Management team as a senior financial adviser.
“This is an exciting time for Beacon, as we begin to recruit senior advisers to join our firm. Not only is Paul a Certified Financial Planner™ and adviser, but also he brings estate planning and legal expertise to Beacon as a member of the Florida Bar since 1973 ,” said LaVoy.
When asked about Beacon’s 2014 growth initiative, LaVoy explained that Beacon will be increasing its wealth management client base as well as the number of advisers with whom the company contracts this year, but will not be changing its client-centered, wealth management model.
“We will continue to be a “boutique” firm that works closely with clients individually and monitors their accounts daily; however, unlike many, we are optimistic about the market: particularly about the housing recovery in Florida and throughout the nation,” LaVoy added, “That’s why we’re growing!”
LaVoy further noted that Paul ran a principled and competitive campaign as an independent candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives for Florida’s 12th District in 2012. “We have no doubt that Paul will be very helpful with growing a strong base of clients for Beacon having drawn substantial support during his campaign last year,” said LaVoy.
Paul earned a B.S. and a J.D. from the University of Florida. During this time, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve for six years. Following law school, Paul worked as an attorney for over 40 years including time as an assistant public defender. He also was elected County Court Judge in 1980. He has served as the President of the Conference of County Court Judges of Florida, the Carrollwood Community Bar Association, and the Carrollwood Village Home Owners Association, Phase I.
