The St. Petersburg Greenhouse is hosting a free preview “Office Concert” on Valentine’s Day, February 14th from 3-4pm. Bay area businesses are invited to attend a short presentation by Fran Snyder, and a performance by Shaun Hopper (Award-Winning Fingerstyle Guitarist.) Snyder, a local artist and music entrepreneur, is launching Office Concerts as part of the third annual Florida Listening Room Festival (FLiRF).
The office concert concept is simple. Professional musicians (singer-songwriters with acoustic guitars, for example) come to your office and put on a 35 minute concert. Gather your team of 10-40 employees and/or a handful of clients in a convenient part of your office and enjoy the show. The cost of performances are included in festival sponsorship packages, which range from $450 to $1,500.
Office concerts promote camaraderie, employee retention, and can also reward clients of the business. “It’ll be the best coffee break they’ve ever had,” says founder Fran Snyder. Proceeds from office concerts will benefit the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance and will sponsor performances for area charities and schools. Kristina Alspaw of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce said their concert “was a great way to enhance the energy in the office.”
Fifty office concerts are being scheduled during the week of the festival, April 1-7, 2014. The concerts will feature great talent from the Tampa Bay area as well as the international festival artists. “We’re bringing wonderful talent from as far as Victoria, BC to play living room concerts around the state of Florida. The office concerts allow them to play for new audiences during the day.”
Fran Snyder, Shaun Hopper, and Flagship Romance demonstrate the office concert concept.
