|Sarasota, January 6, 2014 – All Faiths Food Bank proudly recognizes the support of The Mosaic Company and The Mosaic Company Foundation in 2013. Because of their generosity, the Food Bank was able to distribute more than 591,000 meals to our neighbors in need in DeSoto County last year. Additionally, 136 students throughout the county were sent home every weekend and over holiday breaks with backpacks full of food (close to 5,000) as a result of contributions made by Mosaic to All Faiths Food Bank. One in three children in DeSoto County – the poorest in the state – go to bed hungry. With Mosaic’s support, the Food Bank’s BackPack Kids program reaches more students and their families than ever before.
“Their contribution is incredible,” said Sandra Frank, All Faiths Food Bank Executive Director, “we are fortunate that together, we touch so many lives in an area that really needs our help. On behalf of the families that count on us for food, we extend our deepest gratitude to The Mosaic Company and The Mosaic Company Foundation.”
