TAMPA, FLA. – Riding this year’s housing-market rebound, 101 new-home sales professionals were honored recently for individual sales of more than $1 million by the Sales and Marketing Council of the Tampa Bay Builders Association.
The awards were presented to top Tampa Bay-area new-home sales professionals and marketing executives during the council’s annual Awards of Excellence ceremony in Tampa. Celebrating the best sales totals in recent memory, the council named Peter Winter of Standard Pacific Homes as SMC Builder Member of the year, and Claudette Kelsey of New Homes Living as SMC Associate Member of the Year. Both were selected for their professional attitude, knowledge of the new-home market, work-related continuing education and an ongoing commitment to the council and the building industry.
Winter also was named the local building industry’s top new-home sales manager.
Ryan Dougherty, also of Standard Pacific Homes, was named Marketing Manager of the Year.
The ceremonies also recognized the top-producing new-home sales professionals in the Tampa Bay area starting with Ryland Homes’ Debbie Simard, who earned the Platinum Million Dollar Circle Award for generating $15.9 million in new-home sales. Walking off with the top Gold Circle Award was Victoria Franchina of D.R. Horton Homes with $4.6 million in new-home sales.
Finally, sales people of the year – in their respective price categories – were:
• Kim Pokrana – Standard Pacific Homes – less than $150,000
• Cathy Click, Standard Pacific Homes – $151,000-200,000
• Steve Allen, K. Hovnanian Homes – $201,000-250,000
• Matt Kurkiewicz, Ashton Woods Homes – $251,000-300,000
• Lisa Bilgray, Ashton Woods Homes – – $301,000-350,000
• Beverly Garrett, Standard Pacific Homes – $351,000-500,000
• Ken Wasil, Standard Pacific Homes – more than $500,000
The evening’s Great Gatsby sponsors were Wells Fargo and Verizon, while Top Hat Presenting Sponsors were the Tampa Bay Times, Diversified Home Mortgage, California Closets and Total Design Group.
